Our Roots

Maple Valley Farms is a 310 acre family run farm, located north of Ninette, MB.  After fighting flood water to many times on our acreage in the Red River Valley, we decided it was time to relocate to higher ground.  We purchased our current farm, near Ninette and moved our family to it in November of 2000.  Our farm is half bush and half pasture/grain land.  There is a beautiful valley that winds its way through our property.  We love the incredible landscape and scenery of this place that we call home!  In 2003, we started collecting maple syrup from some of the Maples trees on our land and enjoyed the delicious taste of our own Manitoba Maple syrup!

In 2004, we began our market garden and named it Maple Valley Farms.  Our garden has grown, over the years, to approximately eight acres.  When we started our market garden in 2004, we did Farmers' Markets in Brandon.  At the height, we did five different markets a week.  After a number of years of selling our product in Brandon, we transitioned to delivering our vegetable produce to Winnipeg.  We had a number of great years there.  In 2016, we began our CSA program, along with the weekly markets in Winnipeg.  In 2017, we had an incredibly dry spring.  Our priority was and still is, to serve our CSA customers.  So in order to be able to provide sufficient and top quality vegetables to our CSA family, we completely opted out of the Farmers' Markets and have since grown vegetables specifically to meet the needs of our growing CSA family.

Here at Maple Valley Farms we also raise cattle, pigs, and layer chickens.  We love knowing where the food comes from that we eat and how it is grown/raised.  We count it a privilege to be able to provide others with farm fresh food to feed their families!

We believe accessing local food should be easy.  Think of it like your weekly trip to the grocery store, but it is fresh and local!

As the farm has grown, so has the community around it.  We love the community that we are a part of, and each one that is part of this community!  Growing vegetables and meat has a funny way of expanding your family!

As we enter each growing season, I am even more passionate about Maple Valley Farms and how far we have grown since those early days.
